Hurricane Preparedness Tips From Full Circle Orthopedics

Expensive highrise hotels and condos over sandy beachfront on Atlantic ocean

We are now one month into hurricane season, and Full Circle Orthopedics wants to ensure our patients are prepared and protected. If you’re currently managing an orthopedic condition, recovering from surgery, or rely on mobility or medical equipment, please take a moment to review these important safety tips.

1. Refill Prescriptions Early

Have at least a 7–10 day supply of any prescribed medications, including pain relievers, anti-inflammatories, and any post-operative meds.

2. Secure Medical Documents

Keep a folder (or digital backup) with:

  • Your orthopedic treatment plan
  • Medication list & allergies
  • Our contact information

3. Stock Up on Medical Supplies

Make sure to have:

  • Extra braces, slings, or splints
  • Ice packs or heat therapy items
  • Wound care or post-op supplies

4. Plan for Mobility Needs

If you use assistive devices (cane, walker, wheelchair, etc.):

  • Charge powered equipment
  • Make sure evacuation plans include mobility assistance

5. Stay Informed

Check for clinic updates before and after any storm. We’ll notify   you of changes via text, email, and our social media pages.

 6. Prepare a “Go Bag”

Pack a small emergency bag with:

  • Medications & medical devices
  • Comfortable shoes & a change of clothes
  • Insurance cards and ID

 7. Sign Up for Local Alerts

Register with your county’s emergency management system to   stay informed on evacuation orders and shelter availability.
